Kay Wing PT, DPT, NCS, GCS
Founder and President
Dr. Wing founded SWAN Rehab because of her passion to give hope to survivors of stroke and other neurological injuries. She received her Physical Therapy degree from Northwestern University and her Doctorate from Northern Arizona University. She is certified by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Neurological Certified Specialist, as well as a Geriatric Certified Specialist. She is an adjunct faculty for Northern Arizona University and for A.T. Still University and lectures around the country. Dr. Wing has several publications on stroke recovery.
Kay is the 2012 recipient of the prestigious Henry O. and Florence P. Kendall Practice Award from the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition she has received the Clinical Excellence in Neurology Award from the Neurology Section of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Outstanding Service Award from the Section on Administration, and the Outstanding Physical Therapist of the Year award from the Arizona Physical Therapy Association. She is past president as well as a long-term board member holding several positions for the Arizona Physical Therapy Association.
Rachel Dorsey, DPT
Outpatient Program Manager
Rachel was born and raised in Holbrook, AZ and is a true Arizonian. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona and received her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University. She has years of experience in the treatment of Neurological, Orthopedic, Cardiopulmonary, Vestibular, and Geriatric conditions in Hospital, Outpatient, Community, and School-based settings.
Rachel has been an active member of the Arizona Physical Therapy Association since a student. She is a leader in community affairs, and founded the Friends of the Holbrook Animal Shelter non-profit organization in Holbrook, AZ which received the Organization of the Year award. Rachel is a believer in the SWAN rehab philosophy, particularly in their interdisciplinary approach. She is energized by her role as the outpatient clinical team leader and the opportunity to bring her passion for patient care to SWAN.
Comprehensive Center for Vocational Rehabilitation Program Manager
Sarah is a graduate of Arizona State University with her Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation. She has worked in outpatient neurological rehabilitation and physical medical rehabilitation for the past 19 years in various positions including: Recreational Therapist, Director of Recreation Therapy and Extended Rehab, Community Reentry Specialist and Vocational Rehab Specialist.
Sarah's accomplishments include being awarded with Gentiva Extra Mile Award in 2008, ResCare Sue Scheuner Award for Clinical Excellent in 2011 and the 2013-2014 Volunteer of the Year Award through the City of Mesa and Arizona Disabled Sports.
Michelle Whalen, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Michelle is originally from Orange County, California. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, and received her Bachelor's degree in Biology-Physiology and Minor in Chemistry from California State University of Long Beach. Michelle loves working with the Neurological population and assisting patients with regaining strength, function, and independence. Michelle had played soccer for 21 years and now spends her spare time hiking with her husband Michael and their dog, Maple. Michelle also enjoys working with ceramics and polymer clay as hobbies.
Kimberly Chesney, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Kimberly earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University in 2016. An Arizona native, Kimberly grew up in Prescott and moved to Phoenix to start her career at SWAN Rehab. She is dedicated to providing quality and compassionate care for those living with neurologic conditions. In her free time, Kimberly trains and competes with her horse in the sport of three-day eventing, and also enjoys hiking, camping and cooking.
Julie Reagan, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Julie is a Phoenix native who has a deep passion for people and encouraging movement to fulfill the human experience. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy, she uses strong neuro-facilitation techniques along with specific exercise and movement based therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and improve activity levels. Julie received her BA in Business Administration and Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin and still bleeds orange for all of her Longhorn sports teams. Her education continued in Denver, CO with obtaining her DPT from Regis University. As a Xavier College Prep grad, working at SWAN is a homecoming of sorts, and we are excited for her particular strengths in developmental postures, gross motor progressions, and Parkinson's Disease as our clinic's own accredited PWR! therapist. In her spare time, Julie enjoys time at the dog park with her French bulldog, brunching with friends, stretching out in a good yoga class, and planning her next snowboarding trip.
Patty Sullivan, PT, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Patty is a passionate physical therapist from Phoenix, AZ. She graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2004 with a BS in Zoology, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2007 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (Go Rebels!). Patty then went on to become a Neurological Certified Specialist, recognized by the APTA for a specialized skill and knowledge with patients with neurological impairments. Since graduation, Patty has worked at St Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, gaining invaluable experience in treating the early through chronic phases of injury. She has developed further training and education with kinesiotape, neuro IFRAH, and chronic pain management. Patty is excited to bring her experience to SWAN, to learn more, and be a part of a team to help patients regain their quality of life.
Annette Ruby Cordero, PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Center Coordinator of Clinical Education/Inservice Coordinator
Annette received her Associate's in Applied Science in 2010 from Gateway Community College Physical Therapist Assisting Program. Annette is from El Paso, TX, where she attended the University of Texas at El Paso. Annette speaks Spanish fluently and can interpret as needed. She enjoys hiking and cooking.
Kate Hirsch, PTA
Kate earned her Associate in Applied Science from Gateway Community College Physical Therapist Assisting Program. Kate grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Arizona in 2007. Kate decided to pursue a career in physical therapy and discovered her passion for working with the neurological population. She is excited to be a part of the SWAN team and enjoys hiking, yoga, and traveling with friends and family.
Physical Therapist Assistant
Kristen was born and raised in Peoria, AZ. She received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2012 and is waiting to start the process of applying to Physical Therapy schools in the summer. Kristen loves spending time with her family and friends in addition, to helping others. Kristen also enjoys rooting for her two favorite hockey teams, the Detroit Red Wings and the Phoenix Coyotes, working out, country music, and food. She feel very blessed to work with the SWAN team members and wishes to provide as much happiness and humor to others as life granted her.
Elaina Neal was born in Plymouth, Michigan, but has lived in Goodyear, Arizona since 2001. She is currently studying Kinesiology at Arizona State University and is anticipating graduation in December of 2017. Proceeding graduation, she plans to attend physical therapy school to obtain her dream of becoming a physical therapist. Elaina has over a year’s experience working in an orthopedic outpatient physical therapy clinic as a technician. She was drawn to SWAN rehab to gain experience in the neurological side of physical therapy. Elaina is passionate about helping others, the Arizona Coyotes, and her friends and family.
Ben Dingman was born in Johnsburg, Illinois, but has lived in Tempe, Arizona for 3 years now due to attending Arizona State University. Ben has received his Bachelor's in Exercise and Wellness (Health Promotion) at ASU during the spring of 2017. He has a strong passion to become a professional Occupational Therapist, and help others gain independence and self confidence. Ben enjoys all sports, country music, and traveling to new places. Ben feels very grateful to be a part of the SWAN team and is looking forward to growing as an Occupational Therapist.
Kari StephansKari was born in Bremerton, Washington but has lived in Arizona since she was little. Kari is currently studying Exercise and Wellness at Arizona State University and will be graduating in December 2017. After graduation, she will be applying to graduate schools in hopes of attaining her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Kari enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. She was introduced to SWAN through ASU and is very grateful for the opportunity to learn about neurological conditions in a physical therapy setting.
Rebecca Bush, OTR/L
Becca received her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ and her Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. Becca is excited to be a part of SWAN Rehab as she has always had a desire for serving the neurological population. She enjoys traveling to new places, going to the driving range and cheering on the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Jeff Phillips, OTR/L
Jeff received his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Texas Tech University. Jeff was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a big Dallas sports fan. Jeff enjoys playing soccer and being outside with his husky, Ghost. Jeff is excited to be a part of the SWAN team and is looking forward to growing as an Occupational Therapist.
Breanna Dennis, OTR/L
Breanna received her Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ and a Bachelor's degree in Human Health Studies at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. Breanna is a proud native and was born and raised in Chandler, AZ. In her spare time, Breanna enjoys traveling, camping, playing volleyball, bowling, and wrestling with her three pups. Breanna has worked with neuro patients her entire career in many different settings and is excited to be a part of the SWAN team to share her experience and passion for recovery with you.
Emily Ekama, COTA
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Emily graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville, PA. She has experience working in all different types of therapy settings including outpatient, assisted living, short term rehab, and pediatrics. She loves working with people who have neurological conditions to improve the quality of life for those she works with. She enjoys camping, hiking, cooking, art, and spending time with her family and friends.
Annette is a Speech-Language Pathologist who joined SWAN Rehab in 2012 because of her desire to provide excellent therapy for people with neurogenic communication disorders. She received her Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Arizona State University where she gained valuable experience working in the Aging and Adult Language Disorders research lab. She is our ALS Speech Therapist. Annette is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the national professional credentialing association. At the state level, Annette is a member of the Medical Special Committee for the Arizona Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She is proud to be a member of the SWAN team.
Taylor Hickock, MS, CCC-SLP
Taylor received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Berkeley and her Master of Science in Communication Disorders from Arizona State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Behavioral Health Management from ASU part time. She has a special interest in providing functional and individualized treatment to individuals with brain injury who are aiming to return to work. In her free time, Taylor spends quality time with her family, watches Game of Thrones, and plays with her two German Shepherds.
Janet was born and raised in Wisconsin. She completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Arizona State University. Her primary focus throughout her career has been the rehabilitation of individuals with neurological disorders. She considers it both a pleasure and a privilege to work with this population. Janet is excited to be a member of the SWAN team. She enjoys early morning walks with her yellow lab Sydney, spending time with friends, hiking, yoga and sports./p>
Licensed Certified Independent Social Worker
Terri Buresh is a Licensed Certified Independent Social Worker who received her Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. She has worked as a Social Worker in various areas of the Greater Phoenix community from Girls Ranch, Salt River Pima-Maricopa and Fort McDowell Indian Communities to St. Joseph's Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute for more than 30 years. She is presently a Clinical Social Worker in private practice working with traumatic brain injuries and other neurological diagnoses, domestic violence victims and vocational rehabilitation services. She is the immediate past Vice President of The Brain Injury Association. She enjoys traveling to Mexico and spending time with her family and her dog, Simba.
Dr. John Walker
Dr. Walker is a clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in neuropsychological evaluation, independent medical evaluations, pre-surgical evaluation and psychotherapy with patients with medical and neurological disorders. He also completes medico legal evaluations, as well as forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial, restoration to competency, mitigation, capital mitigation and guilty except insane pleas. Dr. Walker is a consultant to the Maricopa County Superior Court. He is board certified in clinical neuropsychology and has reached diplomat status recognized by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology. Dr. Walker is a full member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology and a professional member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Dr. Walker graduated from Arizona State University. He completed his doctoral training at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology followed by internship and residency in clinical neuropsychology at Gentiva Rehab Without Walls.

Administrative Assistant Comprehensive Vocational Rehabilitation
Krendi is a native of Michigan and moved with her family to Arizona in 2008. She has an extensive administrative background and is our Authorization & Insurance Coordinator. When not at work, Krendi enjoys being with her family, watching movies, and loves board games. She also loves exploring Arizona.
Patient Care Coordinator
Alyssa is an Arizona Native who has a passion for working with people and learning about their individual experiences. Her weekends consist of watching Football (she's a die-hard New England Patriots fan). In her spare time you can find her in a book or in the kitchen baking. Alyssa is detailed oriented and a great asset to SWAN Rehab.
Ashton is a Wisconsin native with an extensive healthcare background in credentialing, billing, and insurance. Ashton’s leisure time includes spending time with family and road trips.
Front Office Representative
Marisol is an Arizona native who has a passion for helping people and giving each individual a genuine human connection. She is a senior at ASU majoring in law. On her time off you'll find her at a Diamondbacks game cheering her heart out or practicing catching and batting with her daughter in the park.
Jehna is an Arizona native who enjoys making people smile and helping others. Her favorite teams include: Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers, and the Dodgers. If she is not cheering on her favorite teams she is playing with her 2 dogs. She is excited on her journey with Swan and looks forward to making a difference on our team.
